The hunt for a second MO Camper Award continues... in record summer heat!
The heat of summer had set in. Temperatures in the upper 90s to lower 100s.... Heat indices up to 120°F! It was pretty clear, the only way to pull off a camping trip at this time was to make sure a body of water was nearby!
The choice to beat the heat? Sam A Baker State Park where we were free to sit in the cool waters of the St Francis river! Definitely the ONLY way this trip was possible.
Span of 3 days; Approximately 311 miles; Approximately 21.67 gallons of gas used; Approximate average MPG 14.4; Approximately $45.27 spent on gas. Air conditioning was set to MAX the whole time!
