2019 Campout #1

Updated: Jun 2

Holiday weekend campout? I'm in!

FINALLY!! The rain has stopped, the temperatures have warmed, and it's time to get camping! It is also the first trip planned with the newly received Explorer trailer! The destination, Trail of Tears State Park, is of course a place I have been to before and am always happy to visit again and again. It was also open for camping despite the high running Mississippi River. Although the trip was short at 2 days and 1 night, it brought some much needed rest and relaxation from the stresses of everyday life. It was fun to see the little stuffed raccoon still chilling in his hollowed out log but the rest of the trip... BUGGY. With the rivers all running high, gnats were EVERYWHERE and nothing could dissuade them from attacking you... Not even bug spray could stop the onslaught. Regardless, the trip was just what was needed!

Span of 3 days; Approximately 28 hours and 10 minutes of cumulative driving; Approximately 321.5 miles; Approximately 25.47 gallons of gas used; Approximate average MPG 12.62 while towing the new Explorer trailer; Approximately $63.92 spent on gas; Average fuel consumption rate 0.904 gallons per hour.
