The MO National Parks Passport Challenge Journey Begins!

Updated: Oct 21, 2021

Apparently Missouri has a little secret! In addition to the State Park Centennial Passport challenge and the NPS Centennial, Missouri has its own NPS Centennial Passport Challenge too!

The goal is to visit all 6 of Missouri's National Parks by December 31st, 2017. I'll be first to admit, I only knew of 2 National Parks within Missouri which would be the Ozark National Scenic Riverways and Jefferson National Expansion Memorial (Gateway Arch). Since I will be close to each of these National Parks as I visit the State Parks, I've picked up the National Passport challenge as well! Both should be easily accomplished though, now that I have explored the southeast of the state, I will have to make a return trip to grab the stamp for the Ozark National Scenic Riverways.

Today's trip was to Ulysses S Grant National Historic Site which features the history and "complex life of Civil War leader, civil rights champion, and 18th U.S. President, “U.S.” Grant while touring the family farm of he and his beloved wife, Julia Dent."

Completing this trip today added 1 more park to my list bringing the running total to 1 of 6!

Span of 1 day; Approximately 53 miles; No fuel economy statics recorded.
